Justin Bieber is one of the biggest pop stars on the planet and like many other artists before him, he likes to tell his fans about Jesus Christ. He is also a prime example of how sometimes the path can get rocky but Christ always guides anyone back to where they need to be.
Back in 2014, the world was at the peak of Bieber madness. Unfortunately, there were also stories about all kinds of antics appearing in the tabloids. It seemed everything that had happened over the past decade caught up with him: the stories, the drugs, the women. Bieber had gotten himself into trouble for his behavior – vandalism, drag racing, and smoking marijuana to name a few of his acts. Bieber has always been relatively public about his faith. He was raised in a Christian home and always claimed to be a firm believer in Christ. Unfortunately, he seemed to have lost sight of that when first entering into the world of fame and fortune. His relationship with Christ quickly began to wear away as he grew closer to money and partying. After some time Bieber had hit rock bottom.
It was around that time the pop star felt it was time to get back in touch with what really mattered. It was when Justin Bieber was staying with Carl Lentz, pastor of Hillsong Church, New York. Carl Lentz is one of 12 global pastors that represent Hillsong Church. Lentz is based in New York where he works beside his wife attempting to deliver the gospel in a way that resonates with this generation.
One night in an apartment, Justin dropped to his knees and, while sobbing, said he needed Jesus. At this point in his career at the height of his musical career and the attention his misbehavior was getting, it was only normal that he was looking for something more.
From there began the search for the place that Bieber would reclaim his relationship with Christ. Lentz was looking for a place that was secluded and completely away from paparazzi. NBA star Tyson Chandler, one of Lentz’ friends, offered using his bathtub.
WHEN BIEBER BECOMES A BELIEBER
Around that time Justin Bieber was baptized in a bathtub after falling to his knees and saying he wanted to better understand Christ, Carl Lentz said.

Lentz still remains present in the stars life acting as a mentor. Bieber has made other friends throughout his journey with Christ. He is friends with pastor Judah Smith, who is the lead pastor of Seattle’s The City Church.
And according to pastor Lentz:
His relationship with Jesus is changing his life daily. It is one of those things where you never really get it, it takes a while to keep growing as a person,
Every day he is getting older, and with each chapter comes new growth.
Bieber shows the world that sometimes people can lose sight of what is important. He also has shown the world that sometimes people get off track but that anyone can redirect and rededicate. Most importantly, he’s shown the world that Christ will forgive and show guidance if that person is a true “belieber.”
